My goal is to optimize the health of the children and teens I work with so their symptoms do not develop into more serious conditions in early adulthood. Dr. Mara’s Methodology
This is not a basic approach to healing.
Root cause healing has no quick-fixes and no band-aid solutions. It’s critical thinking combined with a deep sense of root causes.
Dr. Mara experienced and healed herself from a slew of medical issues, including adrenal issues, chronic fatigue, POTS, anemia, hypothyroid, allergies, and gut imbalances, using her own whole body, root cause approach without pharmaceuticals.
After initially practicing under the “functional medicine” or “holistic nutrition” umbrella, Dr. Mara saw many gaps in the way these methodologies were implemented — namely, green allopathy methods and one-size-fits-all protocols that left a lot of people stuck and unable to heal.
Dr. Mara’s favorite question is “why?” and her favorite answer is “it depends.” She continues to ask WHY until she arrives at the root cause. She utilizes critical thinking combined with a deep sense of root causes and isn’t interested in basic approaches to healing.
Dr. Mara utilizes functional blood work, functional labs , BioEnergetics, and a comprehensive intake as detective tools to very specifically investigate your root causes. It is pretty standard for Dr. Mara to spend hours combing through every detail of your labs as your private investigator, making connections and drawing conclusions. She works with mostly women and their children (and dad when he is willing) — most of the women she works with struggle with chronic fatigue, hormone and thyroid imbalances, gut issues, autoimmunity and stealth infections (e.g., mold toxicity, chronic viral infections, parasites, etc.). Dr. Mara also works with children and their parents to solve complex cases of constipation and other GI issues, neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism and ADHD, eczema and other skin conditions, and a variety of other health conditions.

Initial Deep Dive Consult
Your program includes an initial 75-90 minute video consultation to discuss your child’s 3 day diet diary, complete a deep symptomology analysis, look for patterns and make connections, review prior labs and needed functional labs to help us uncover root causes, and to define your child’s bioindividual path to healing.
Monthly check-ins and unlimited support
Your program includes one 1-hour session each month over the four months that we work together. You’ll also have unlimited support via messaging system on Practice Better platform so we can chat anytime between sessions.
Customized action plan
Enjoy a comprehensive and bio-individualized written action plan for your child that addresses your WHOLE child. We will not only be focused on one healing modality, such as restrictive diets or taking a slew of never-ending supplements. What if I need more support for my child?
Everyone has a different body and different underlying conditions and thus, takes a different length of time to heal.
I “graduate” most kids after Investigating the Root, but some have more extensive underlying conditions to address. If additional time is needed after completing the four months of Investigating the Root for Kids, you can add unlimited support for just $450 per month.

This is a whole body healing program, so nearly all areas of your child’s health will be explored! Please contact me at hello@drmarabargeron.com or schedule a free connection call and we can discuss your child’s specific health concerns. I will only take on families if I am an expert in that specific health condition.

I work with babies to teenagers.

After you join the program you will be sent digital paperwork to complete and you will then be able to schedule your initial deep dive consult. During the initial consultation I will give you instructions on completing the labs and all labs will be ordered.

No! I do not have a cookie cutter set of labs I recommend for every individual I work with. Each person will require different labs. I determine what labs are necessary based on presenting symptoms, what i'm suspecting your root causes/underlying conditions to be, your health goals and your budget.

At the moment, this program is run virtually. We meet via video chat (practice better has an embedded zoom). We can also meet via phone if you prefer. If there is anything visual I need to see, I will ask you to take specific photos and upload them to the document center.

Ones that are very specific to your child! During the initial deep dive consult we’ll determine together which functional labs would be most beneficial to investigate your child’s root causes.
I only run labs that are necessary to uncover root causes/underlying conditions. I do often feel that many "functional" providers run too many unnecessary, costly labs. I run anything from functional bloodwork, to HTMA, to bioresonance/bioenergetic testing, stool and breath tests, Organic Acids Test, mycotoxin urine testing, among many others.

I do! Fun fact: I almost always work with more than one family member in a household. I LOVE healing whole families! We can chat about family discounts during your free coffee chat.

I would budget $100-$200 per month for individualized healing tools - supplements, lifestyle tools, etc. I find that by truly addressing root causes. You do not have to worry about your child being on 15 different supplements in this program.

Yes! Due to high regulation and restrictions in these states, if you live in New York, you will have to complete ALL functional labs and blood work outside of NY. If you live in NJ or RI, you can be mailed the functional labs, but you will need to complete blood work outside of NJ and RI.

Yes, but there is an extra charge (depending on what country you live in) to order blood work. All other functional labs have the same cost for my international clients. Please contact me for any questions.

As of yet, I haven’t worked with anyone that is consistent and diligently follows each protocol that hasn’t made some progress. Remember that healing is a journey and takes time, consistency, and commitment.
